The Alfred Imaging Group strives to deliver the best quality imaging services possible at an affordable cost.
Our billing policy is in line with our level of expertise, the level of technology available at each practice, and the type of examination performed.
Patients will be advised of the cost of their examination at the time of making an appointment or before their examination is performed for walk-in patients.
Wherever possible, we will bulk bill most Medicare rebateable examinations for pensioners and Healthcare Card holders.
All accounts are settled at the completion of the examination. We accept:
- Credit Card - Mastercard or Visa
Most examinations and procedures will be eligible for a Medicare Rebate for patients with a Medicare card. A Medicare rebate represents a contribution made by the Federal Government towards the cost of health services. Our staff will let patients know of their entitlements at the time of making an appointment.
The Medicare Rebate can be claimed at Medicare Service Centres, online or, in most cases, we can lodge a claim electronically on behalf of patients if they are registered with Medicare for this service.
Overseas Students may be eligible for direct billing with their insurer. Please advise our bookings team of your insurance details at the time of making an appointment and further information will be provided to you. Overseas visitors who are not eligible for direct billing will be charged after their examination is performed. You may be entitled to a reimbursement from your travel insurer. Patients in these circumstances should check with their travel insurer for more information.
Please note that some pharmaceuticals, contrast agents and biopsy kits required for some examinations are not funded by Medicare. Therefore, your examination may incur an additional charge which is not refundable.
A gap charge may be necessary for some examinations and procedures. At Alfred Imaging, we strive to keep out-of-pocket expenses to a minimum and appreciate your understanding.
