Patients - Appointment Checklist

Macquarie Medical Imaging operates an appointment system to minimise delays and inconvenience to patients at our practice.  Patients requiring an imaging procedure should telephone our reception staff to arrange an appointment time.  Patients without an appointment who require urgent attention are seen as soon as possible after discussion between the referring doctor, radiologist or practice.

Appointments are generally required in all specialised departments, however they are not always necessary for general x-rays. Macquarie Medical Imaging offers a full range of medical diagnostic imaging procedures and state-of-the-art technology to provide accurate and speedy results to your doctor.

This together with the caring attitude of our staff, from radiologists, medical imaging technologists to office receptionists, ensures that your comfort and privacy is guaranteed and your doctor is given the best information possible to assist with your diagnosis.

You will need to bring the following with you to your appointment:

  • Referral
  • Previous films
  • If asthmatic or diabetic please bring your medication to your appointment

Your films together with a full diagnostic imaging report, will be sent to your doctor soon after your examination.  Since he or she is the only person qualified to discuss your results with you, a follow up appointment with your doctor is important.  The x-rays are your property, please ask your doctor for them and store them in a safe place.  Should you require further x-rays, it is advisable to bring previous films with you. Some tests require preparation; if you are unsure what to do, ask our staff prior to your appointment or download one of our patient information brochures located in the patient imaging section on this site. It is important to note that any previous tests you have had with any of our other practices will be accessible to us to assist your follow up.

So your examination can be completed quickly, please have your method of payment including your Medicare, Health or Pension Card with you when you arrive for an appointment.  If your examination relates to a Workcover claim, please have the claim number and any relevant details at hand.
